  • World Cat is second rate, in my opinion

I owned a 2004 World cat 270 HTS, with Volvo diesels. I recently got rid of it and have been looking at a Maxweld Maxcat, made in Oregon, and I have to say that the Maxweld is hands down far superior in everyway to the World Cat. Construction, performance, reliability, ride, design, and the manufacturer definitely stands behind the Maxweld ...

  • Re: thinking of buying a world cat 33 te

I bought a world cat 270 hts with twin diesels and it was an absolute lemon. Probably the worst part in the whole process was the rotten way the company treated me and how they would not stand behind the manufacturing defect and fix my boat correctly. I have since talked to 2 other owners with the same model and the company treated them in the ...
  • SEVERE WORLD CAT SAFETY ISSUES

I am one of 9 owners of a boat design by World Cat, the 27' HTS with twin diesels, 2004-2005. The hatch design over the engines allows water entry directly into the air cleaner elements, turbos, and engines while cruising. I have had several volvo mechanics, a boat engineer, and 2 surveyors look at it and they all are of one consensus...the ...

  • Re: World Cat boat problems

Hondacat, I hope it doesn't sound like I am insinuating that all World Cat boats are lemons because I am not. Even after all the crap with this boat I told Andrew Brown I would trade for a used boat with outboards. He wanted me to pay another $115k for a new boat but that would have meant I would have paid $225k for a $160k boat. As for the ...

  • Re: Twin Vee 17

Mr N, I had a world cat 27' with twin diesels. It had a design flaw and the company would not stand behind their product. my insurance had to total it. I would stay clear of world cats, glacier bays as they are owned by worldcat. I think even twin vee was just bought out by world cat but not totally sure. Grady white makes a good cat.

  • Re: World Cat boat problems

There were so many things that happened in this deal that it is too enormous to go into, but I will say I sea trialed the boat but I didn't think to look back into the engine compartment after. I have since talked to 3 other owners who have this model and they have all been treated the same by W.C. and Andrew Brown. All have spent a fortune ...

  • World Cat 270 HTS problems

Review the other posts on powercating.com under worldcat boats, and there are other threads about this on sportfishermen.com under ''mix it up introductions'' by the author known as ''worldcat lemon''. Anyone who has had the misfortune of buying one of these boats will tell you it was the worst mistake of their boating career. This boat is ...

  • World Cat buys out competitors

Since World Cat just bought Glacier Bay and Twin Vee I wonder if anyone will have problems with World Cat standing behind these three boat lines? In this market I can only think that manufacturers that don't stand behind their boats, if they make a design problem, will not be around to see the next economic depression.Any other HTS owners want to ...

  • World Cat boat problems

Bought a 2004 270 HTS(twin diesel model), 150 hours on it from Lisa Alley at Town Creek Marina(TCM) in Beaufort N.C.. I was lied to about the condition of the boat and the work done at TCM could have been better done by Ray Charles. By far the worst experience of my life. This boat has a design flaw. Hatches over engines are not even close to ...
